John Melillo is an Oil Contemporary Realist Painter on all surfaces. He grew up on L.I. and is an avid fisherman. He is also a disabled Vietnam Veteran. Much of his art is inspired by these Experiences. He is based in both Eastport, NY, and NYC. He started his painting career by taking numerous classes at the Art League of L.I., Southampton Cultural Center, School of Visual Arts, NY Academy of Art, and The MET in NYC. He earned business certificates at Christies and Sotheby’s. JM is a member of the Art League of LI, Southampton Cultural Center, Parish Art Museum, Oil Painters of America, Southampton Artists Association, Artist Alliance East Hampton, Guild Hall East Hampton, and South Bay Art Association. He has been featured in many articles including “Oil Painters of America, News 12 TV, the SVA Newsletter, Southampton Press, Hamptons.com, Dan’s Paper, Art League of L.I., PMc, Homeland Magazine, etc.” His Multi-Media Series, “Life Goes On” was a solo exhibit in early 2020 at NYU and most recently a Solo Exhibition again along with over 60 of his additional Paintings that included his recent “East End of Long Island Series” at Southampton Cultural Center Sept 17-Nov 3rd 2021.
